The Devil’s Devices Part 5

Every believer is engaged in an ongoing spiritual battle that is real, organized, and strategic. According to Ephesians 6:12, our struggle is not against people but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Satan, a created but fallen being, operates through a hierarchy of demonic forces using deception, temptation, and accusation as his primary weapons.

The enemy follows a consistent pattern of attack: questioning God's Word, distorting Scripture, contradicting truth, and accusing God's character. He targets the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life - the same strategy used against both Eve and Jesus. However, believers are not defenseless. God has provided complete armor including the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, gospel-ready feet, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and constant prayer.

Beyond defense, Christians have powerful offensive weapons: the Word of God as a sword, prayer and fasting for breakthrough, praise and worship that defeats the enemy, the blood of Jesus and personal testimony, and the authority found in Christ's name. Victory comes from remembering our position in Christ - we are not fighting for victory but from victory, since Jesus has already disarmed principalities and powers. The key is submitting to God, resisting the devil with Scripture, and maintaining an eternal perspective that removes fear and brings boldness.
